Demand an End to Columbus State Univeristy's New Cost for Parking!

Everyone parking on Columbus State's Campus has to pay a parking fee effective July 5th 2017. The annual cost of the parking permits will be $45 for students, $90 for faculty/staff, and $180 for reserved parking decals. Hang tags are payable by check or money order only. Please note that after July 5, 2017, every vehicle that parks on campus will be required to display a valid CSU parking permit or visitor's pass. Visitors parking spaces will be monitored to prevent students, faculty and staff from parking in these reserved spots to avoid purchasing a decal. The reasoning; the university is going to use the money to increase the number of Columbus State Police officers. We do not need more police officers, nor do we need to be charged for parking. The cost of college is increasing and student fees are already outrageous. The parking fee would be justified if the college was located in an urban area which provides frequent and efficient public transportation. Please sign this petition if you agree that Columbus State University in Columbus, GA should not be charging students, faculty & guests to park on campus.
