ever since tripadvisor has started people have been able to write reviews on any restaurant/hotel etc they want to. sounds flawless? well its not.
majority of all reviews are either fake reviews written by owners, competitors or companies.
they are misleading and unfair and is ruining the industry completely.
then the real reviews that are on there are complaints as someone is alot more likely to write a review when angry and dissapointed than when they are happy and satisfied.. thus making it not a realistic ratio of good to bad reviews and really makes the business seem alot worse than it is which is just bankrupting restaurants all over.
the other issue is that the people writing the reviews are abole to get away with writing absolute rubbish about things they know nothing about and and have never done, yet tripadvisor does not check that the fact are correct...
i recently saw a thai restaurant which i visit often who have all thai chefs cooking all thai food where they pride themselves on being authentic thai food, hense why its alot more spicy thai a uk thai restaurant, yet the customer got away with saying its not thai food, its chinese and slagging it off. yet after checking their details and reviews, travels etc.... they had never ever been to thailand. clearely they have no leg to stand on!!
this kind ofsystem just does not work and is just damaging small businesses in this tough time we call the recetion! it must stop!
