All animals deserve to live their lives free from suffering & exploitation. All animals have the ability to feel pain & suffering just as much as humans do. They feel pleasure, fear, frustration, lonliness and llove. Whenever we consider doing something that would interfere with their needs--we are morally obligated to take them into account.
Animals have inherent worth--a value completely separate from their usefulness to humans. Every creature that has a will to live has a right to live free from pain & suffering.
All animals should have the following basic rights:
1) The right of animals to be free from exploitation, abuse, cruelty & neglect.
2) The right of laboratory animals not ot be used in cruel inhumane experiments.
3) The right of farm animals to be in an environment that satisfies their basic physical & psychological needs.
4) The right of companion animals to a healthy diet, adequate shelter & medical care.
5) The right of wildlife to a normal habitat ecologically sufficient to a normal existance & self sustaiining population.
6) The right of animals to have their interests represented in court & safeguarded by the law of the land.
