Stop Killing Contest on idaho Salmon - Challis National Forest

I am writing to ask you to reverse course on a serious misstep that has somehow allowed the misnamed "Idaho for Wildlife" to hold a wildlife-killing contest on our national forest lands. I was extremely disappointed to learn that the Forest Service plans to allow this hunt to continue without permitting or environmental review. The Salmon-Challis National Forest provides essential habitat for wildlife -- including predators like wolves and coyotes -- and should not be used to allow such unethical hunts.

By not requiring a permit for this event, the Forest Service has effectively escaped any public review of the competition. But the public must have a say in how our lands are used and managed, and an event of this size and magnitude must be preceded by an environmental review open to public scrutiny.

The Forest Service does not need to have their name associated with a Killing Contest in Idaho. The picture attached to this petition is a past killing contests and the name of the forest service across the top of a similar picture from the Idaho contest is not the image the forest service wants to give the public.
