Pledge to adopt a rescue animal!

So many dogs and cats are euthanized each year simply because they can't find a home in time. If each of us pledged to help even one animal during the course of our lives, imagine all the pets we could help!

Everyone deserves a second chance...especially animals, who have no control over their circumstances.

In August 2011, I adopted my mini poodle mix, Charlie. He weighed only six pounds, barely having survived a parvo infection that ravaged his little body after his initial owners had neglected to get him the standard puppy shots. When he became ill, they abandoned him at a local vet's office. The staff took him on as a charity case, then sought a new home once his health improved.

Today, Charlie is a healthy, happy boy, full of mischief (see photo). As our family likes to say, he's got a new "leash on life"!
