The TDSB Program Area Review Team will be submitting a final proposal regarding grade re-configurations and allocation of specialized programs in Ward 12 at a TDSB meeting scheduled for November 18, 2015.
These changes will directly impact the long term enrolment at Pineway Public School, as indicated by TDSB's own projected numbers. This could put Pineway Public School in a position where closure may be considered in the future. In addition, the grade re-configuration would eliminate Grade 6 from Pineway School, leaving our 10-12 year old children without providing bussing to access Childcare. Furthermore, specialized programs like French, has been allocated to neighbouring schools, and the requests of many Pineway Parents who would wish to have this program at Pineway, have been ignored. The Pineway Parents feel that the children would benefit from having easier access to a French program at their home school.
The Pineway Community would appreciate if TDSB would listen to all our concerns, as we feel that at this stage, despite the meetings held, our feedback has not been given consideration. Please sign this petition so that it may be presented at the Planning Priorities Committee on November 18, 2015, and STOP TDSB from making these changes.
