Demand on End to Police Killing our Wild life.. They need and deserve our protection.

Please sign the petition and urge for change in regulations that allow for police to shoot and kill helpless wildlife. There are countless instances each day where deer, bears, raccoons, cows, horses, dogs and other animals are shamelessly killed by police. Police and animal control usually claim that these animals are injured or pose a threat to society, but why isn't the Ministry of Natural Resources or Animal Services doing their job to help these innocent animals when they are in need and stressed? When humans are found severely injured are they shot dead? Animals do not have a voice to tell us that they do not wish to be killed. Where do we get off shooting innocent wildlife and calling it humane? What is so humane about shooting an injured and scared deer just trying to live as much as any of us wants to live? Where is the protection of our wildlife? It is often forgotten that we have built our homes where their homes used to be. We destroyed their homes and families to raise ours. Let us remember that we share this planet with all life.
Why have we not considered or looked at police carrying tranquilizers for just these situations. The Humane way would have been tranquilizing the innocent deer, care for animal’s injury, and release it back into the wild where it was trying to go before it was trapped and its life stolen from it with no mercy. Peel Police already have been under investigation as it has reviled that they have killed, murdered many deer, coyotes, opossums, dogs, and even cows. Let’s stand up for our precious wild life. All regions Polices should go under investigation. This killing is happening everyday everywhere in Canada. Please help us raise awareness by sharing and signing this petition. They’re counting on your support. No one should have the right to shoot and kill innocent animals in situations that could be carried out differently. They should receive appropriate care instead of being killed. The excuses like “we did to be humane or we did it for your protection” can no longer be acceptable. We are demanding change in our regulations, demanding change from our Ministry of Natural Resources, demanding change from our government for protection of innocent animals in our land. These acts of cruelty have gone on for too long without any re-precautions, without any care for our animals and it need to stop now.
Ontario has 231 species designated as at-risk under the Endangered Species Act. Many others are under pressure.
Ontario’s wildlife faces daunting threats. They need and deserve our protection.
- We need to push for change and ensure that the Ministry of Natural Resources plays a bigger and more useful role in protecting our innocent wild life neighbors?
- Change regulations to ensure that wildlife services are always present in animal situations where police shouldn’t be involved to harm animal.
- Create more wildlife services with better supervision.
- demand that police use only non-lethal weapons to stun animals when absolutely necessary
