Reject Waltham Forest council plans

The Council are investing £23 million into the reconstruction and renovation of Pool and Track, which they are renaming as Waltham Forest Leisure Centre. However, they have failed to consult us (Orion Harriers AC) who are undoubtedly majority stakeholders and the primary users of the track. If their plans go ahead, then we will face a depletion in vital resources and facilties, such as a track side medical room for training and competition, an indoor stretch room for athletes to use during the winter and changing facilities. It is clear that we at Orion have been poorly treated and that the council are more interested in an "extreme sports hall" and a spa than the demand for athletic facilities that we seriously need. Sign our petition to help Orion and it's fellow track users get their voice heard by the council.

NOTE: We are NOT against the renovation and refurbishment of the leisure centre. What we are against are the council's current plans for the centre. If they are implemented, it will ultimately result in a net loss in vital resources and facilties for the club.
