Tell the Senate: Allow Doctors To Recommend Medical Marijuana To Veterans!

The Senate Appropriations Committee recently voted in favor of the Veterans Equal Access Amendment, which would allow doctors in the Veterans Administration (VA) to recommend medical marijuana to veterans, such as those suffering from PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other ailments.

The amendment now needs to pass the full Senate. Please sign the petition to urge your Senator to vote "yes" on this amendment!

The amendment, sponsored by Sen. Steve Daines (R - MT) and Sen. Jeff Merkley (D - OR) would allow VA doctors to recommend medical marijuana to veterans in states where the drug is legal -- 23 states and the District of Columbia.

Hundreds of thousands of veterans suffer from depression. 60% of surveyed Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) members who served in the Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force suffer from PTSD and other brain trauma.

It's unconscionable that our government sends people to war and then holds out of reach a treatment that could help them cope with the terrible aftermath of ailing personal health. It's time to change this and finally make medical marijuana available to veterans.
