Stop the Port save the Koala and the Southern Right Whales mating ground.

Our change in government has not stopped the prospect of a massive Port and industrialisation of koala Habitat, Southern Right Whale mating grounds, for 3000 ships per year, tarmac covering an area of up to the size of four suburbs, bringing pollution, carbon emissions, industrialisation to a dense wildlife area, on land for the Koala, the echidna, wallabies and birds of prey, in the ocean, fairy penguins, seals, migratory birds, southern right whale, orcas. Show your international concern that Australia stops taking a wrecking ball to the environment and the new government shows respect for our people and our land, especailly those like Western Port recognised though not protected by international treaties. Please ask them to stop and change the land back to green wedge to protect the Koala Hospital, habitat, mangroves and saltmarsh and oh so much more.

Dear Premier Andrews and Minister Wynne,

Please could you ensure that the land from the Special Use Port Zone is returned to the people. Siltation traps are put on the Koo-wee-rup drains to prevent damage to the marine ecosystems of Westernport. Please ask the Coal mining industry to buy their own jetty at 90 mile beach costing $2 billion dollars rather than wrecking Westernport for coal mining interests. It their cost benefit analysis cannot stand this then they should not be doing it.

Taking 1600 ha of land that is wildlife habitat when increasingly there is so little left is insane, pushing 3000 ships in an area only a fifth of Port Philip Bay near Southern Right Whale breeding grounds, fairy penguins, orcas and seals disregards the natural value of the area.

5 km of mangroves and saltmarsh are very important to the ecosystem. Join us on a boat trip called Mangrove Mamma's and come and see how valuable and beautiful this area is. If you see it share the wonder of spoonbills flying overhead and meet Jenny at her Koala Hospital and get on the boats and share stories with fishermen and watch the sunset over the tranquil bay with the natural wash of the ocean, I guarantee you will not be able to destroy it.
