Ensure Investigation & Accountability of Guilty Persons Buying & Abusing Animals

After being called to investigate a residence in New Bedford, Massachusetts, more than two dozen animals were discovered; some were deceased and others in extremely poor conditions. Two people were implicated in this situation and need to undergo evaluation and further investigation.

Animal Control Officers were summoned to this investigation due to a neighbor who witnessed a foul odor coming from the residence of the couple. Prior to this witnessed situation, complaints were flowing in months earlier regarding the hoarding, buying and selling of animals by the two on Craigslist. When entering the home, authorities discovered nearly two dozen dead animals and another two dozen animals such as dogs, cats, lizards, rabbits, birds and chinchillas that were sick and/or malnourished. None of the living animals appeared to have food or water access. The dead animals were still in their cages or carriers.

The couple in question, according to authorities, were obtaining the animals from places like Craigslist and auctions for free, and would promise the former owners that she would give them a good home, but in reality were trying to sell the animals for profit and letting them die. If they are found to be guilty, we need to gain justice for all these poor, unsuspecting animals through the signing and sharing of this petition.

New Bedford District Attorney – Please ensure that the people involved in the New Bedford Animal Sales and Hoarding situation undergo a full evaluation and investigation, making them fully accountable for the unjust treatment, care and death of all the animals found in their “care.” You need to gain justice for all the animals rescued, both dead and alive by ensuring the couple receives appropriate charges for each and every animal involved. Also ensure that they are banned from future pet ownership, care or encounters for the rest of their lives.
