Ban the sale of shark fin in British Columbia

  • by: Lesey Isles

Apex predators such as sharks play a critical role in maintaining healthy, balanced ecosystems.

The continuing practice of shark finning is having a devastating effect on shark species around the world.

An estimated 73 million sharks are killed each year for their fins alone, and over one third of shark species are threatened with extinction.

Measures must be taken now to stop the demand for shark fin, and ensure the responsible conservation and management of sharks.
