Stop Polluters from Poisoning Our Water

"The Clean Water Act ensures that Americans will continue to have safe and clean water, but polluters are exploiting a loophole in the law that allows them to dump their waste into bodies of water. Streams and wetlands in particular are at risk, and since all bodies of water are connected, the waste could end up in your drinking water. Several states have seen the repercussions of polluted water, and this dumping needs to stop. Call on Speaker of the House John Boehner to lend his support and protect our streams and waterways.

More than 117 million Americans depend on streams and waterways. If these bodies of water are filled with waste and other pollutants, Americans would suffer tremendously. We rely on water to grow our crops, to drink, to bathe, and keep our environment healthy. The Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers wishes to close this loophole in the law immediately, and have received massive amounts of support for this action. Unfortunately there are members of Congress and lobbyists who are against this movement.

This legislation affects everyone, from the hardworking farmer, to those who live in the city. Every human being depends on water for their survival and if we let companies pollute it, then we are sentencing our society to death. The Clean Water Act was established to keep our water safe to drink and swim in, not as a garbage dump for fracking and other activities. Water is the most precious resource on the planet and we cannot let it get polluted."
