Demand an ethics investigation of Trey "Benghazi" Gowdy for leaking CIA information!

The headlines say is all: "Gowdy appears to accidentally release CIA source's name" and "Benghazi Chair Goofs And Reveals Same CIA Info He Accused Clinton Of Bungling."

Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is the chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi - the committee that even the Republican Majority Leader admits is just a sham front for political attacks against Hillary Clinton.

Gowdy criticized Clinton for using a classified CIA source's name in an email sent from her personal email server - but then did something much worse than anything he'd accused her of: He released that email to the public, including the CIA source's name.

In 2007, Dick Cheney's Chief of staff was convicted of leaking a CIA agent's name to the press. While these cases are not the same, Gowdy needs to at least be investigated for ethics violations. This comes on the heels of another congressman filing a formal ethics complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics accusing Gowdy of violating "federal law and House rules by using funds appropriated to the Select Committee on Benghazi to oppose the presidential candidacy of Hillary Clinton."

Misusing the public's resources and trust for political purposes is bad enough, but playing games with our national security is even worse. It's time for the House Ethics Committee to get involved - demand an ethics investigation of Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC)!

Investigate Rep. Trey Gowdy for releasing a CIA source's name to the public!
