Changing Course Times and Offerings for Spring 2018

Many of you (Track A students, or even Track B students) have stated your concerns that the electives and times offered for next semester are less than ideal. I have been in contact with GSS staff about changing the current course offerings.

Here is the dilemma: For Track A students, there are about 5 electives offered that are not clinical. All 5 of these electives are offered at the same time as one of our required courses. I have outlined it below:

10:50-12:40   Comparative International Social Welfare
1:30-3:20       Leadership and Macro II
3:30-5:20       Social Policy Analysis
                      Community Organization
                      Supervision and Staff Development
5:30-7:20       Social Policy Analysis
                      Social Work and the Law
                      Grantsmanship
Possibly Social Work with LGBT Individuals
7:30-9:20       Leadership and Macro II

I have heard many of you express concern over the fact that 'Grantsmanship' and 'Social Work and the Law' are offered at the same time (and at the same time as the Policy Analysis required course). I have been told that if I can get enough people to confirm that they would take one of these courses at a different time, GSS staff will consider trying another time slot.

Please sign this petition if you will agree to take one of the 5:30pm elective courses ('Grantsmanship' or 'Social Work and the Law) at a different time slot (8:50am or 10:50am).
