Today, March 4th 2013, Cocoa Cola, Schweppes & Lion won an Australian Federal Court challenge that now makes it illegal for the government of the Northern Territory to continue their very successful container deposit scheme.
This scheme, introduced just last year has seen the return of 35 million containers in just over 12 months in the N.T.alone. That is 35,000,000 plastic, glass & aluminium containers that are not in landfill, in our streets, or ending up in our parks,beaches etc,
South Australia has had this very scheme in operation for over 30years, with great success.
It is time that corporations both large & small, adopt a proactive approach to helping our living environment.Please boycott their products until this decision is hopefully reversed.
