More Diversity in Victoria's Secret Models

  • recipient: We are petitioning specifically against Victoria's Secret who only represent one unrealistic standard of beauty.

To help young girls feel they are being properly represented in the media by using a variation of types of women as models, from different ethnicities, races, sizes and ages.

Our advocacy group decided to choose Dove as our official stakeholder because we feel that they embody realistic, not idealistic, diverse beauty that comes in different shapes, sizes and colours. They represent a variety of women that help support natural beauty that we believe supports young girls to feel beautiful in their own skin. Young girls do not feel they are being represented in the media, causing them to want to alter their image to fit the media’s version of an ideal woman, rather than finding women that represent them. We feel that Dove empowers women and young girls to be their own role models and find inner beauty the only type of beauty that matters.
