Stop Abuse of the Mentally Ill in hospital settings and the community

Please look up on U-Tube or your search browser about the bullying of the mentally ill and physically disabled people.  Review the apology that LeBron James was asked to make for using the word "Retarded" some time ago.  Should the disabled be jeckled and harassed while riding the bus?  If the person cannot speak well due to vocal cord damage and is not able to get people to listen due to this type of disability, is it fair, correct or kind to bully someone who may appear "different" from others?  Also, help put an end to those mean-spirited and bullying type of individuals who slander the disabled by gossiping in front of them saying they are prostitutes, etc. when they are not and never have been.  If some of these things have happened to me and I am an American born citizen brought up in a loving family, who provided well for me; what do you think is happening to those who have not had opportunities to help themselves or have been repressed from helping themselves?  There are reports online about some mentally ill persons being mistreated in the state of New York and once it came to light, there are things being done to help the disabled there.  Tell me, how is it fair for someone disabled to be publicly humiliated in front of others when they have never, ever lived in the streets, have never been a prostitute, drug addict or alcoholic?  Have people lost their own self-respect by projecting their own unhappiness on others they do not even know?  If it happens to me, it is happening to others.  We are suppose to have Civil and Human Rights here in America; but it is not happening for everyone.  Help stop the mental and emotional abuse that is even happening in the VA hospitals and when someone speaks up to those in charge, they put defamating lies in a patient's records.  I have never been violent in my life, so please help those individuals who must deal with their disability or disabilities to have a more humane life by spreading the world to be kinder, gentler and to listen to the disabled.  We have challenges; but oftentimes we are very loving, caring and thoughtful individuals.
