In the 2011/12 school year college park voted for the SPLOST referendum to tear down the old College Park Elementary (across the street from our apartments) and rebuild a new College Park Elementary. We were to be bused for 2 years to and elementary in East Point. The 1st year we were split up and sent to 3 East Point Elementarys and the 2nd Year we were all bused to Conley Hills Elementary.
Now the 2 years is up and our new College Park Elementary is built. However, they want to continue to bus us to East Point and bus an East Point Elementary to the new College Park Elementary across the street from us. The way that we were informed that our children was to be bused again, was by the school BUS DRIVER issuing our children a letter on the last day of school in May, stating they would be bused for another year! The ORIGINAL PLAN called for us to be bused for 2 years until the new school was built and we have lived up to our end of the plan. For 2 years we have had hardship getting to the school where our 4 and 5 year olds were, including them being stuck there for 2 days during the snow storm. Why bus College Park children to East Point and East Point children to College Park?!?!
