Sounds walls along I-81

Residents in Carlisle P.A. are constantly bombarded with highway noise in our town. Neighborhoods taxed heavily for property are experiencing depreciation of home values, making it very hard on our housing market. The addition of sound barriers could help dramatically.
Any other respectable town has barriers along the highway to protect from noise pollution, but the good people of Carlisle are subjected to living in what looks more like a pit stop than a city.

It is not just noise alone that these barriers would help. They also help to channel pollution up and away from homes, which aggravate asthma, harm childrens developing lungs and can cause early death in the elderly, many of whom cannot afford to move. Federal research meteorologists have published studies that show that barriers reduce pollution by more than 50% on the other side of the barrier.

With the taxes we pay, the funding shouldn't be much of a hurdle.

Please provide Carlisle with sound barriers along I-81 to protect our community.
