Heighten Security At All Schools - Not Just High Schools

In the aftermath of what has occurred today in Connecticut, it is our duty to keep our youth and staff safe while attending school. Many districts have heightened security in many of the High Schools because of the Columbine High School Massacre in 1999. It should not take such events as today in a K-4 school for us to make sure all our children are as safe as possible. This should be the most important subject for each and every school from now on.

This petition is being written to make it mandatory for each and every school, no matter what grade to implement heightened security with that of a licensed security guard or police office. In addition, metal detectors should be used in every instance, even when the person entering is familiar as we just never know!
