Stop Military Bestiality!

Upon changing a bill to allow people of a homosexual orientation their freedom, the United States Senate has now opened the door for bestiality within the military!

Definition of bestiality:
1. sex with animal: sexual activity between a human being and an animal
2. inhuman behavior: an act, behavior, or condition more appropriate for an animal than a human being

Regardless of the philosophical platform from which one views the activity, bestiality is a criminal offense in many states. Even if a state does not specifically proscribe the activity, it may be covered under other aspects of a states sex crimes code or even the anti-animal cruelty law. So why make it a legal act for members of the United States military?

The only relevant federal law was the sodomy law under the military code. However, the United States Senate has now authorized an extremely disturbing provision that LEGALIZES bestiality in the military. The Senate version of H.R. 1540 (also S.B. 1867)

repeals Art. 125 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice which prohibits, in part, bestiality or sex with animals.
Art. 125 provides:

925. ART. 125. SODOMY
(a) Any person subject to this chapter who engages in unnatural carnal copulation with another person of the same or opposite sex or with an animal is guilty of sodomy. Penetration , however slight, is sufficient to complete the offense.
(b) Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.

While the amendment reads:

`Sec. 920c. Art. 120c. Other sexual misconduct...
(f) Clerical Amendments- The table of sections at the beginning of subchapter X of such chapter (the Uniform Code of Military Justice) is amended--
(1) by striking the items relating to sections 920 and 920a (articles 120 and 120a) and inserting the following new items:
`920. 120. Rape and sexual assault generally.
`920a. 120a. Stalking.
`920b. 120b. Rape and sexual assault of a child.
`920c. 120c. Other sexual misconduct.';
and
(2) by striking the item relating to section 925 (article 125).

The Senate version which passed by unanimous consent on December 1, 2011, must now be reconciled with the House version which passed on May 26, 2011 but without the offending provision. A conference committee made up of House and Senate members will resolve the differences in the two versions. The Senate conferees are: Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI); Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-CT); Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI); Sen. Daniel K. Akaka (D-HI); Sen. Ben Nelson (R-NE); Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA); Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO); Sen. Mark Udall (D- CO); Sen. Kay Hagan (D-NC); Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK); Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV); Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH); Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY); Blumenthal; Sen. John McCain (R-AZ); Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK); Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL); Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA); Sen. Roger Wicker (R-MS); Sen. Brown (R-MA); Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH); Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH); Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME); Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC); Sen.
