HELP END ANIMAL SHELTER ABUSE IN VAN NUYS, CA

Van Nuys, CA - It's not an appropriate place for a small mother dog with tiny puppies....the animal shelter is loud, frightening, and potentially full of germs that could easily make young puppies severely ill.

Nor was it an appropriate place for the young mother dog who was left outside with her defenseless puppies. The 8-lb Chihuahua was outside with her infant puppies when tragedy struck.

Just this morning, the 1 yr old mother dog was dumped at the East Valley Animal Care Center with her babies after her owners discovered that she was attacked sometime during the night. Though the owners did not witness the attack firsthand, they believe that a coyote is to blame.

To blame....perhaps the owners that left the small, young mother outdoors, and unprotected are to blame.

The story gets even worse...the owners promptly took the injured dog and her babies and dumped them all at the animal shelter. Tonight, the 1 yr-old mother dog, injured from an attack, and her tiny puppies, are all sitting at a shelter in Van Nuys, CA.

The owners did not care enough to alter their dog. The owners did not care enough to keep their young dog and her infant puppies safely indoors. The owners did not care enough to get medical attention for their young dog after she was violently attacked. Instead - they dumped her at a shelter.

Ideally, the mother dog and her babies could find their way to a rescue organization. An organization that utilizes foster homes that can properly care for the little dog and her babies.

If you are interested in helping the valiant young mother named Telia, please contact Veronica Perry, the New Hope Coordinator, at (818) 756-9323. Telia's ID# A1140578.

Telia is at the East Valley Animal Care Center, 14409 Vanowen Street, Van Nuys, CA 91405.

Please contact the animal shelter directly (have the ID # on hand) if you are able to assist this young dog and her puppies. If you are unable to help her yourself, please take a moment and circulate her information to others. It takes just a moment to Tweet, post to Facebook or Myspace, or forward the article in an email.
