This summer the Iowa Corn Growers Association announced they were retiring the original Cy Hawk trophy after 20+ years of use.  Today, August 19th 2011, the Iowa Corn Growers Association unveiled the new trophy.  It can only be described as the unholy spawn of a Hummel figurine and a Family Circus cartoon.  This petition is for the Iowa Corn Growers Association to wake up, realize they're sponsoring a football game, and that a Norman Rockwell situation just won't cut it for this great rivalry game.  If they can't come up with something better than this then the old trophy should be brought back.

We the undersigned, believe that you have erred in your choice for the new Cy-Hawk trophy.  We request that you choose a new design that reflects the interests of the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, their respective fans, and not your own corporate interest.  Your choice in trophy is universally disliked, and if no alternative is available, we request you bring back the old Cy-Hawk Trophy.  If the game continues with your new version of the trophy, the rivalry will become a laughing stock, not only in the local media, but certainly in the national media.
