Roxy is a sweet 4 yr-old Boxer Cross girl that was taken from her mom because the Animal Control Officer deemed that Roxy "looked" like a Pit Bull. Ontario has a BSL in place which places Roxy automatically on death row, unless we can have the time to appeal.
Roxy has never tried to hurt anyone. She is a sweet, loving, gentle girl. She has never shown aggression towards anyone, or any other dog, but because she lives in Ontario, where Pit Bulls are banned.

We, the undersigned, are contacting you to ask you to intervene on behalf of Roxy and Deanna.
Roxy is a 4-year old Boxer Cross that was seized by Animal Control in Oshawa, on January 9th, 2011 - deemed to be a Pit Bull based on her "looks". The owners were intimidated by animal control, with threats of jail time, and fines if they refused to hand over the dog.
While we understand that there is a Breed Specific Legislation on Pit Bulls in Ontario, we feel that this law needs to applied with much more discretion, in light of the types or mistakes that are continuing to be made, and have been made.
The seizure and euthanization of Pit Bulls under the BSL, and any breeds that "look" like Pit Bulls, is cruel and extreme. We ask that you do what you can to intervene in this instance and to ensure that better measures are in place, to avoid these types of extremely distressing mistakes in the future.
Roxy is a sweet, loving 4-year old girl. She is desperately loved, and a significant member of her human family. We ask that you please do what you can to allow more time for Roxy's loving family to be able to successfully appeal this case.
