On Sept.1nd, 2011, there was an incident down town Ploiesti, involving this dog ( Pit Bull ) a police man and the owners of the dog. All reports in the media, are very conflicting and partial and of course, being Romania, extremely biased against animals, especially dogs.
One thing is certain : nobody got hurt, but the owner of the dog...who was beaten by the policeman...
The media was alerted by the director of the city pound, one of the MOST NOTORIOUS DEATH CAMPS FOR ANIMALS< in Romania, and only parts of the actual incidents have been reported.
The dog, TASHA, although wearing a muzzle and being on leash, ended up tranquilized , taken away by the dog catchers and impounded ILLEGALLY...
She is STILL KEPT in the pound, which the veterinarian Dragos Rusu, had locked, and doesn't allow ANYBODY to enter, declared the pound in quarantine, even without the knowledge of the superior authority, the county's Sanitary-Veterinary Office, and asks anybody who insists to enter, to make proof of vaccination against rabies.
It has come to our attention that he is determined to KILL THIS DOG. He refuses to return Tasha to her rightful owner, even if she was taken illegally...Please HELP SAVE HER LIFE...THE WORLD MUST KNOW THE ABUSE OF POWER and the abuse, and cruelty against animals, done by employees of cities' pounds, with the blessing of elected officials ( mayors ) in Romania

AGAIN, the international community is shocked by horrible news about animals coming from Romania.

We took note about the minor incident between two dogs, in Ploiesti , which by the abusive and aggressive intervention of a policeman was transform into a major scandal, not only local but now international. We also know that legal actions have been taken already in order to solve this matter as required in the Romanian laws for the protection of animals, in force in Romania

We know that a dog has been seized illegally by the dog catcher services, which at this precise moment in time, illegally and abusively refuse to release the dog to her rightful owner, and also intend to KILL THIS DOG, after 15 days.We also found out that Dr.Rusu has cdeclared the sheletr in quarantine, refuses the access to the public, now he asks for the proof of anti rabies vaccination to those who might be allowed...We do hope that he does not intend to declare rabies in the shelter so he can kill all the dogs over there...)

AGAIN we realize that Romanian authorities not only do not apply the law, but the person paid to do so, abuse their power.
(Din nou vedem ca autoritatile romane nu aplica legile in vigoare.)
We kindly ask Mr.Mircea Cosma to keep his promise made to Mr. M.Marinescu, Mr.M.Serbanoiu, Mrs. Elena Badicu...and the entire world now, who found out about this very disturbing situation.

We ask the Romanian authorities in Ploiesti to treat the animals according to the laws for the protection of animals in force in Romania and also according to the European Convention for animal welfare.
( Cerem autoritatilor romane din Ploiesti sa trateze animalele conform legilor romane in vigoare si conform conventiei internationale pentru bunastarea si drepturile animalelor.)
We also ask the Romanian authorities to immediately open a thorough investigation into the actions taken by the police officer involved in that incident and also to punish all those who abused their power and trespassed Romanian laws in force.
