Because officials continue to allow the circus owners, circus employees, zoos, animal brokers, corporations, and others to abuse elephants. We, the under signers, are requesting the following actions:

1. All elephants in captivity would be released to proper sanctuaries to live in dignity and freedom in peaceful environment. The elephants would receive aid to recover from trauma caused by humans
2. I would ban capture and removal of wild calves (baby elephants)/animals from their families
3. Ban export/import of capture elephants/animals
4. All chains, ankuses, hydraulic winches and cables and other instruments used to control elephants and other animals that represent abuse would be outlawed 5. Outlaw businesses/organization from exploiting animals for commercial gain
6. All elephants would be removed from all free contact situations where they are expected to perform on demand; the use of elephants in circuses and for elephant back safaris should be outlawed.
7. There would be no breeding of elephants/animals in captivity, as this only compound the current problem.
8. Penalties for violating any of the above offenses would be enforced and severe

We understand that this is a large task, but these actions are necessary to ensure the safety of the public and all elephants.
