Save California Trees

The purpose of this petition is to:
1) Save a grove of eucalyptus trees in Larkspur, CA2) Establish better laws to help save trees throughout California
The City of Larkspur, California has not banned eucalyptus trees, and its Fire Department, after an inspection, declined to order Dr. Anne Wolff to remove the trees from her property.   Nevertheless, several neighbors brought a lawsuit and persuaded a trial judge to order Dr. Wolff to remove an entire grove of trees on the ground the neighbors were afraid of the risk of fire or the trees falling .  Dr. Wolff 's appeal  of that decision is not a referendum on the desirability of certain plant species  or the flammability of the eucalyptus , but instead challenges whether  an individual should have the right to force change on a  neighbor's property  merely by presenting an "expert" (who, of course, protecting  him or herself first in the assessment of risk.) If this case establishes a  neighbor's right to "veto," then any individual can demand the removal of any tree that represents any purported "risk.  This legal theory nullifies the community's ability to define for itself what risks must be tolerated to maintain a natural environment.
This petition seeks signatures from those who are concerned about the trial court's ruling and would like to see that the ruling is reviewed carefully to ensure it does not set a dangerous precedent.
