Stop Offshore Drilling in South Carolina, Clean Energy Now!

Despite the massive disaster unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico due to the BP drilling disaster, some elected officials in South Carolina still support drilling off South Carolina's coast for oil and natural gas.

South Carolina has enormous potential for offshore wind and biomass, yet no elected official or political candidate has released a comprehensive clean energy plan for our state.

Please sign this letter to South Carolina's elected officials to stop all future offshore drilling and support clean energy. 

As South Carolinians who care about our coast and our state, we call on all our elected officials, to oppose offshore drilling along South Carolina's coast.

 

We also call on our state and federal agencies to issue detailed plans for addressing the oil disaster in the Gulf should the oil reach our shores.

 

Finally, we call on our elected officials to issue their detailed plans for creating a clean energy future for South Carolina. Our state and nation cannot wait.
