Ann Taylor, one of the museum's greatest adversaries on the St. Petersburg Housing Authority is being recommended for reappointment by the Mayor to the SPHA Board on Thursday.

We want Ann Taylor's nomination rescinded.   Ann Taylor's proven track record regarding the Dr. Carter G. Woodson Museum shows that her reappointment to SPHA will not serve the City's best interest.

Taylor also spearheaded the initiative for Parker Financial to loose the rights to the property he has leased from the SPHA for more than a decade by putting the property out to bid.

We are deeply disturbed to see a request for the reappointment of Ann Taylor to the St. Petersburg Housing Authority Board.

Taylor's presence on the Commission has proved to be divisive, contentious and extremely unproductive. Last week's SPHA meeting was most telling. The lack of knowledge to make informed decisions was apparent by several members of the Commission.  Taylor wanted to move the vote forward knowing that other members of the Commission did not have adequate knowledge to make an informed decision.

Taylor participated in a Finance Committee Meeting on Wednesday, January 21 that began at 1:00 p.m. The agenda consisted of 13 items which included a Budget Presentation. The meeting concluded at 1:27 p.m. Members of the Finance Committee were unprepared and uninformed during the regularly scheduled Commission Meeting on January 22, and unable to answer questions pertaining to the recommended budget.

It is imperative to be fully informed when making recommendations/appointments to Boards, Committees and Commissions that will impact the community.  Ann Taylor's proven track record regarding the Dr. Carter G. Woodson Museum shows that her reappointment to SPHA will not serve the City's best interest.
