A Nobel Peace Prize winner as the commencement speaker at Mt. Mary University in 2016

At the age of 17, (most/many) Mt. Mary students are finalizing their plans for college. Things are different in Pakistan and Malala Yousafzai stands as a striking example of that.

When she was 15, a member of the Pakistani Taliban shot her in the head. By the time she was 17, during the course of her slow recovery, she became the youngest recipient of the Noble Peace Prize. These were both the results of her determination to speak out in support of education for the girls and young women in her homeland.

As beneficiaries of a strong education from a school focused on women's success, please indicate your interest and support to invite Malala Yousafzai to speak at the Mt. Mary University commencement exercises and receive an honorary degree in May 2016.
