Help Women & Girls Gain Access to Adequate Feminine Hygiene Products

We are proposing that all women in shelters, women utilizing food banks and girls attending school within the City of Edmonds, be given free feminine hygiene products as a basic, fundamental necessity.

As Mayor Bill de Blasio of NYC said recently, “There should be no stigma around something as fundamental as menstruation. These laws recognize that feminine hygiene products are a necessity – not a luxury." We agree that tudents should be able to concentrate on their studies, Edmonds citizens in a shelter should be able to focus on rebuilding their lives..."

For 3 years, Days for Girls Edmonds WA Chapter has been supplying the Edmonds School District and community with free tampons and pads. We think it's time for our city to support women and girls, giving them back days of education, employment, health, safety and dignity.

Mayor Earling,

I'm writing in support of the City of Edmonds providing free feminine hygiene products to women & girls within the Edmonds School District, shelters and food banks. I'm in full support of giving girls and education and both women and girls health & opportunity. I believe this is a basic, human necessity that the city should support.

Sincerely,
