Corporate Accountability- AT&T

Positive change for treatment received from large corporations such as AT&T and telephone companies that do not regard their customers. Monitoring of these organizations and services to allow customers to choose who they give their monies to. Corporations should not be allowed to tell untruths to customers, it is time for them to be accountable for thier actions.  Companies of this size need to be responsible for their work ethics and customer relations.

Briefly:

I contacted AT&T on a Monday morning advising them that my telephone system was down, “no dial tone”. Without the telephone I can not transmit test to the state, therefore I am closed for the day. They advised me my problem would be solved the next day between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm. I continued to call every 90 minutes within a 13 hour time span in hopes of getting the situation rectified since they stated “the problem is on our end.” After attempting to expedite the call on three separate ocasions, I finally received an automated call back stating they would be there the same day at 5pm. At 515 pm I called wondering where the individual was, and was told 9 pm (when the office closed). At 845 pm I called looking for an individual and received the first answer 8am to 5 pm on tomorrow. The lying and frustration of turning customers away and loosing credibility that I would re-open soon has cause me money and business. The problem was not resolved until 230 pm the following day with an excuse that one of their outside boxes was vandalized.

The majority of the people I spoke with were apologetic as I'm sure they were trained to be, however they lied, did not communicate well, and was not helpful with resolving my problem(s). I still have yet to hear from them concerning compensation for the time and customers lost.

To Whom it May Concern:

AT&T is one of the many corporations that treat consumers poorly, especially private citizens and small business.  I don't agree with government involvement in any portion of my life.  However if something is not done to monitor companies such as this we will continue to be over billed, lied to, and treated as though we do not have a choice who we do business with.

I have made every attempt to resolve my concerns with this company.  I have been ignored, lied to, and transferred from state to state via telephone with persons that could care less about my situation.

As a last Resort, I will utilize this petition in hopes of created dialog with my state representatives to ensure no one is treated they way I have been treated in the last 36 hours.

From various post and reviews that I have read I beleive we can obtain enough signatures by July 2016 to send to congress!
