The Welsh Baccalaureate needs changing or stopping.

The Welsh BAC, the idea of effectively making everyone equal unless they fail, needs changing. Yes some may agree it's a turning point when applying for university, but it adds needless pressure in A and AS levels in Wales alone. Having been considered as an addition to English colleges and schools in the near future, it should be changed or stopped completely, not added adding more issues to the matter. Many if not all students doing the course currently wish for it to be stopped completely as it's too much work, the main reason for keeping it they say is "I need the points to get into university". As the BAC is a compulsory subject, students partaking in 3 and sometimes even 2 subjects struggle as it's more work than they signed up for. Although knowing this going into A level, students typically are unaware of the somewhat takeover of the Welsh BAC with 4 lessons a week being thrown towards it. The solution is simple; remove the Welsh BAC to allow for more time in chosen subjects and an ensured grade at the end (which would probably be higher giving more points). This would ensure more points for students in fields which are fully accepted in all universities world wide as currently the BAC is strictly accepted in Wales other than a few in England. So A level students and parents, I ask you to stand with me against the education board and say what we're all thinking by joining me in this petition.
