Free Betta Fish from Coffee Cup size sales containers!

Please imagine being a fish. And now please imagine being one of the most intelligent fish. And then imagine living for weeks, if not months, in a space not much larger than a coffee cup. Such is the plight of Bettas, or Siamese Fighting Fish in pet and department stores across America.

Being confined to such a small space with almost no mental stimulation can bring lethargy, depression and even death. Quite often these fish are shoved back on shelves and forgotten about with almost no light. Small amounts of water can also become very easily fouled which can cause death as well.

These beautiful fish, thru no fault of their own, are quite simply displayed for sale in the most cost efficient way possible. With no consideration for the fish's health, happiness or well being.

Please sign this petition to urge state and local governments to pass legislation which ensures these fish are displayed for sale in containers no smaller than one half gallon.
