Support the Abbey Theatre in our campaign to name the new bridge in Dublin city the Abbey Theatre Bridge.

Here are five reasons why Dublin city needs the Abbey Theatre Bridge:

1. As Ireland’s national theatre, the Abbey Theatre is a cultural icon located in the heart of Dublin city and beside the site for the new bridge. No other bridge could ever be called the Abbey Theatre Bridge

2. The Abbey Theatre Bridge will put culture and Irish theatre on the map for the people of Ireland and tourists alike.

3. In the future, the new Abbey Theatre building will face on to the River Liffey and will transform the Dublin city landscape.

4. Dublin already has the Samuel Beckett Bridge and the Sean O’Casey Bridge. This is a once in a lifetime chance to celebrate the home of all of Ireland’s greatest playwrights and to commemorate our founders W.B. Yeats and Lady Gregory as we approach our 110th Anniversary.

5. The Abbey Theatre Bridge will become a symbol for the support and encouragement the Abbey Theatre offers our young writers on their crossover journey from script to stage.
