Child Soldiers involve children younger than 18 years old          being used as soldiers at war in different countries such as Central African Republic. Not only are Child Soldiers used as soldiers, but they are also used as guards, human shields, porters, messengers, spies, cooks, and/or for sexual purposes. Child Soldiers is and issue in any third world countries more specifically Central African Republic. Child Soldiers in CAR began around 2007 and is still continuing till this date. On the other hand Child Soldiers in Africa began around 1949 and is still continuing till this date. Child Soldiers affect children that are being used as child soldiers, their friends and families, countries and armies that contain Child Soldiers, and any citizen, organization, and government that are against Child Soldiers. Child Soldiers goes against child rights which is why it must be stopped.

Therefore, as students, we want to show our concern for                these children and show the importance of children’s safety, health, education, and childhood/teenage life. We want people to understand the importance of eliminating child soldiers in order to create a healthy and safe life for the children in Central African Republic. We also want the Canadian government, Central African Republic government, and the United Nations to realize that many active citizens believe that child soldiers should be stopped. Hopefully that will encourage those organization and governments to take action, since they now realize they are being supported and appreciated. That is why we request all of you to sign this petition in order to show your support and understanding of the child soldiers and why it is important to stop them.
