The level of student participation has risen significantly from year one (1), 2012 to year three (3) of 2014. Overall participation for high school and junior high students in 2012 were 30 players. Overall participation rose to a total of 50 players for high school and junior high students in 2014. In 2012, there were only one (1) set of home uniforms and one (1) set of away uniforms to serve both junior high and high school teams meaning that both teams had to share the same uniforms. In 2014, our high school team have a home and away set of uniforms to themselves. The junior high school team have their own set of home and away uniforms. The football team now have four (4) sets of uniforms available for our teams. During the three (3) year tenure, the players improved from having to share helmets between junior high and high school players to all 50 players having their own helmet. In 2012 and 2013, one (1) of our Seniors, each year, has been signed to college scholarships while in 2014, five (5) of our Seniors have been recruited by several colleges and universities.
This petition calls for the reinstatement for Kenneth Nelson, Jr to head football coach. We the students, parents, families, and community leaders of West Attala are needing and expecting that this is to be done immediately. Kenneth Nelson, Jr should have never been terminated from being Mcadams High School Head Football Coach. He has been a great asset to the West Attala students and parents in the community as a strong and devoted leader in education. He puts children education before himself and makes it his number one priority.
We, the undersigned, call on the Superintendent, Attala School Board, and Principal Jacqueline Sandifer for the reinstatement of Kenneth Nelson, Jr. as McAdams High School Head Football coach. We the citizens of West Attala County School District and abroad to help in the reinstatement of Kenneth Nelson, Jr. We have seen the evidence of the growth of our football program in every area of these past three (3) years. We know that it is in the best interest of our football program to reinstate Head Coach Kenneth Nelson, Jr., to continue to lead and work with our students to achieve the goals both you and us hope and work for, "SUCCESS!"
