Support Art In School Curriculum

In the modern world, nothing is more important to a successful career than a sense of creativity and unconventional thinking.

The schools are slowly decreasing the budget for artist studies whether it be music, creative writing, or art classes. Some schools are removing art from thier curriculum entirely and expecting parents to seek out private classes for artistic advancement. Those that still have the luxury of containing art classes, have had the budget cut to almost ridiculous levels. After interviewing an art teacher at highschool level who also teaches ceramics, it was discovered that the budget per year/per student came out to less than $2.00 per student!

The consequences of removing art from school curriculum will not be felt for several years, until our children are unable to perform in an increasingly aggressive job market. Creative thinking is required for any job beyond the most menial. It's time to reverse this trend. Stop art from fading and disappearing entirely. Students should have the right to an artistic education, and all the life tools that it provides.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.
