Demand an apology from Theresa May

I want to demand an apology from Theresa May for her use of the term “Kurdish terrorism”.

As a member of the largest ethnic group in the world without a country and a long history of suffering, displacement and discrimination, I am appalled and disappointed with her terminology. To depict an entire ethnic group as terrorists is in my opinion racist because it creates and condemns negative ethnic stereotypes.

The Kurdish people are already faced with everyday difficulties and discrimination for belonging to a minority ethnic group that suffers immensely by its history and the prejudice, religious and political connotations attached to it due to the negative ethnic stereotypes created by others, including Theresa May.

As a proud British citizen, I would like to enjoy my right to be identified as Kurdish without any negative connotations attached to it in relation to “Kurdish terrorism”. Therefore, I demand an apology.

Please join me in successfully achieving this.
