Thank the Mayor of Boston for Banning Chick-Fil-A!

Boston Mayor Tom Menino has said that Chick-Fil-A is no longer welcome to open locations in the city because of its anti-gay stance.

Menino said that Boston is a city that has always been open and inclusive to all people, a "leader when it comes to social justice" and he won't have businesses there discriminating against anyone. Unless they "open up their policies", Chick-Fil-A is going to have a hard time opening up restaurants in the town.

Menino wrote a letter to the president of Chick-Fil-A, Dan Cathy, standing up for the LGBT community and his city. He said that when Massachusetts became the first state in the United States to legalize marriage equality, he stood on City Hall Plaza and received same-sex couples coming to get married. He went onto say that it would be "an insult" to them to have Chick-Fil-A present.

Please thank the mayor of Boston for banning Chick-Fil-A, and standing up for the LGBT community in the process!

I am writing to you today to thank you for banning Chick-Fil-A from your city, Boston.

It is heartwarming to see you defend and fight for your city, and the LGBT community and its allies that reside within its walls.

It is incredible to see a politician stand up like this when so many people want to take away all rights from LGBT folks just because of who they are. So many people are affected when individuals like Dan Cathy say hateful, bigoted statements about an incredible, strong community.

Thank you again for what you did, and thank you for your time.
