CORRUPTION IN THE TRUCKING LOGISTICS INDUSTRY

DETENTION TIME

I'm a driver that is frustrated with the corruption with shipping , receivers, and brokers always trying to take money out of are pockets. Receivers and Lumper Services making the driver pay to unload the buyers product. Why should we be respondible to pay for unloading their product. Detention Time Brokers mostly tell you we need to give the Receiver or Shipper the first 2 hours then we can receive DETENTION TIME, what they fail to tell you is that all your eyes are dotted and you T's crossed, what this means is you need to be accountable after your 2 hours are complete in order to collect exter detention time. Make sure you call them to start your detention, make sure the receiver puts the In and Out time on your BOL ( MOST OF THEM REFUSE TO DO THIS )  all these hoops we as drivers have to go through to collect the exter time, then hope you get paid from the broker, this is about 50% chance you will collect from broker. They always have some reason why you can't collect.

BIG BROKERS

This is because big brokers make a deal with the shippers based on how much volume the shippers will give them per year. So the Brokers don't want to pay Detention because it comes out of the Brokers budget for the load and the shipper don't want to pay this charge.

Did you notice for example when the produce is strong and in season in FL the rates going to FL from the north drop around 30% to 40% in some cases more, this is because the brokers know's trucks want to get to FL to get the good paying rates. To me this is where the brokers make big money, still charging the shipper the rate of their contract and paying the truck half of what they would normally pay on that same lane. To me this is outrages but as long as you have trucks that are willing to haul for this cheap rate this will continue, the other reason is company's like Prime, Hunt, CR England, Mega Company's hauling for $1.25 cent per mile hurts the Owner Operator plus I did not mention FMCSA and their crap. Drivers help me file this Petition to make Senators and Congress and our New Secretary of Transportation look at all the corruption going on with Shippers, Receiver's, Lumpers and the scum of all the Brokers. Again please sign this petition on behalf of all truck driver in the USA, we are sick and tired of giving our On Duty not Driving time logged and not being compensated. I want these company's to be accountable for Dentention Time, if shippers were paying $100.00 per hour for a trucking waiting 4 to 7 hours to get unloaded they surely would make sure this so called Lumper Service and checkin receiver would moving these trucks in and out there doors.

We the people, Truck Drivers, Owner Operators, filing this Petition on the corruption with Shippers, Receivers, Lumper Services, and Truck Brokers. This Petition is about Drivers Detention Time and how unfairly we as Truck Drivers are being treated at Shippers and receivers and the corruption by Truck Brokers. We are asking you our Senators and the Secretary of Transportation and our Great President Mr. Trump to please step in and point someone to listen to our voice. This Corruption needs to stop. Thank you!
