Correct the Falsehoods of the Adult Entertainment Industry.
We must respect the fundamental human rights of Strippers, Porn Stars and Escorts. This petition seeks to end violence and stigmas attached to the Adult Entertainment Industry through education and advocacy. Operating prominently behind closed doors; Strippers, Porn Stars and Escorts are often stereotyped with a criminal status and are seldom afforded protection or recourse from theft and violent acts committed against them because of the precarious relationship this industry has with law enforcement. Society tolerates such abuse because of the stigma and myths that surround Adult Entertainment. Only until these falsehoods are corrected will we be able to effectively prevent and minimize the structural and occupational challenges of “the business”. If we collectivly discuss these matters we can rid this industry of it's gross aspects such as Human Trafficking and Rape.
A controversial area that most people are not concerned about is in the field of adult entertainment. We, the people, must be committed to personal liberty and privacy. As citizens and government leaders it’s important we internalize the American Constitution. It’s time we embody our political tradition to fight this injustice. The Department of Justice must hold value to The First Amendment and support affirmative relief. However, our country should have zero tolerance for the ugly side of this industry and invest more time and money to eradicate it. Things like rape, kidnapping and human trafficking have no place in adult entertainment and it’s the responsibility of not only our government but the legitimate workers in this business to insure such nasty elements don’t continue to plague this business.
