Stop fox hunting

The registered packs are estimated to kill some 21,000-25,000 foxes a year. 25,000!!! Foxes are in danger of being wiped out completely. Something must be done before these beautiful beasts are wiped out completely.

The evidence which I have seen suggests that, in the case of the killing of a fox by hounds above ground, death is not always effected by a single bite to the neck or shoulders by the leading hound resulting in the dislocation of the cervical vertebrae. In a proportion of cases it results from massive injuries to the chest and vital organs, although insensibility and death will normally follow within a matter of seconds once the fox is caught.

Every part of a foxhunt is cruel; from the chase, to the dig-out; to the kill. There is no 'nip to the back of the neck' in hunting. Lead hounds will snap at any part of the running fox, before the pack rip it to pieces. If the fox outwits the hunt and gets to ground, then it will be forced to fight with terriers for hours before being hauled out and, if lucky, shot.

Fox's main diet is rabbits. Rabbits eat crops. If foxes are wiped out there may be an overpopulation of rabbit which is a danger to farmer's precious crops.
