DEMAND REAL ACCOUNTABILITY FOR CORRUPT CPS WORKERS/AGENCIES IN US

Every state has legal case after case of horrifying stories of deceptive forced intrusion, psychological manipulation, false documentation & children being separated from loving parents with no history or evidence of neglect or abuse, who have suffered lifelong traumatic and psychological scars from CPS (DSS, DCF) workers who get paid based on the number of children who they determine need services.
Each year, upwards of 3.6 million reported incidents of child abuse are investigated in America. But every year, more than 2.8 million of those are proven FALSE. That’s a whopping four out of five reports that turn out to be bogus. In a major federal study, the National Incidence Study (commonly known as NIS2), researchers reviewed records of child protective workers and found that they were at least twice as likely – as much as six times more likely in some cases – to wrongly accuse an innocent family of child abuse as they were to wrongly label a guilty family innocent.
Much of the trouble lies in the wide swath of authority, without any accountability or oversight, that child protective services workers have in the way they label families guilty based upon their suspicions and opinions, (often with no evidence to support, or even evidence to the contrary which they ignore) and to enter those families in state child abuse registers. These registries can affect the parents ability to get a license for work, ability to rent a place to live, and essentially classify them alongside with convicted pedophiles without distinction. For instance, in many states, the standard for deeming child abuse allegations “substantiated” or “indicated" is that a child protective worker believes that it is SLIGHTLY more likely than not, that maltreatment of a child actually occurred. In other states, workers are authorized to label a case substantiated if he or she claims “credible evidence” of maltreatment, even if more evidence to the contrary exists. This is done by a single worker outside of a courtroom, without any fair due process, and any way for the parent to defend themselves, based on a single “interview” with a scared and/or trusting parent, who is unaware of their rights and that everything they say can and WILL be twisted and used against them.
This corrupt and money driven process (regardless of guilt or innocence) causes lifelong psychological trauma to families.
WE MUST DEMAND THAT EVERY CPS DEPARTMENT BE ACCOUNTABLE and DEVELOP A REAL JUDICIAL PROCESS THAT STOPS PROTECTING THEM AND ENSURES THEY ARE HELPING FAMILIES WITHIN THE LAW, rather than abuse their power and hold them hostage in order to pad their paychecks!
