Stop S. 1481, Which would Give Public Lands in Alaska Away to Private Corporations

S. 1481, sponsored by Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), would hand over or trade more than 130,000 acres (almost 53,000 hectares) of the Tongass National Forest - the nation's largest national forest - to private timber corporations. Another 20,000 hectares of national wildlife refuge lands would be opened to privatization.
