DON'T KNOCK CRSTAL PALACE SPORTS STADIUM DOWN!

My name is Eve Horobin. I’m fifteen years old and I’ve been dreaming of wearing a gold medal since the lead up to the 2012 Olympics when I went to Crystal Palace to see the Olympic Torch pass through. Since then the track has been my happy place; my friends and I would joke about how it was ‘our home’. Before I became a member of South London Harriers I attended another club there for years. Crystal Palace Stadium is somewhere that cannot be replaced, even if it was replicated down to the smallest, most insignificant detail; the achievements and memories made there will be lost, destroyed. I cannot express what a shocking tragedy this is to me, as I know there have been hundreds – probably even thousands – of experiences just like mine. So if my one story doesn’t turn you, picture hundreds. And you would deny us that?

All they want to do in the place of the track is build a primary school.  But Crystal Palace Park is huge and much of it is unused, so if they're so desperate to build a school there why can't they just use some of the park?  And there are plenty of other parks around the area so giving up a little grass from that particular one will not change anybody's life.  Losing the track could ruin the lives of many.  There is no where else like it and the next good one is miles away.  Help me keep it standing!
