Pass the Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act

This bill would help New York state end human trafficking. It would improve protections for trafficking victims, especially sexually exploited children. It would create a new crime of aggravated prostitution of a minor. It would also increase accountability for buyers and traffickers, strengthening penalties and shifting the blame for prostitution from people who are used for sex to those who make them do it.

New York's legislative session ENDS ON JUNE 20TH. The Senate has already passed the bill. Now Assembly members must vote on and pass it before then!

Dear Assembly Member,

Please pass the Trafficking Victims Protection and Justice Act, A2240, before the legislative session ends on June 20th. The proposed legislation would strengthen protections for trafficking victims, especially sexually exploited children. It would also increase accountability for buyers and traffickers by stiffening the penalties they face.

Please act quickly so victims can get the help they need instead of being revictimized through arrest and prosecution.

Sincerely,
