Keep ITS Kids Safe: A petition to DDOT for a crossing guard for The Inspired Teaching School

The intersection at Douglas, Lincoln and 2nd Streets NE is dangerous and unsafe for the students of the Inspired Teaching School (ITS), especially during the critical hours between 8:00 - 9:00 AM and 3:00 - 4:00 PM.

ITS needs a crossing guard during drop-off and pick-up hours to slow down and manage traffic at this critical intersection. Additionally, the Inspired Family Association (IFA) feels there is a urgent need for DDOT to evaluate signage and traffic flow at the intersection.

The IFA would like DDOT to evaluate some of the following:
- Should Douglas street should be one way during drop-off and pick-up?
- Should there be a blinking red or yellow light at the intersection?
- We would like to see pedestrian crossing signs installed in crosswalks
- Is there additional signage that will discourage residents and parents from parking in crosswalks?

Dear DDOT -

I am a parent at The Inspired Teaching School.
