On the British soap Emmerdale, viewers from the around the world this year are drawn to the gay relationship between the characters Aaron Livesy and Robert Sugden. However, the last time Aaron and Robert kissed was months ago in July 2015. Now it is already November 2015 and they are apart. The writing of the gay male characters Aaron Livesy, Robert Sugden, and Finn Barton needs to change. Emmerdale is sending a dangerous and homophobic message that gay male love is inferior to heterosexual love. Finn Barton only had a brief short relationship earlier this year. Finn is often wasted by the Emmerdale writers he is the stereotypical flamboyant gay man who is the life of the party. Yet Finn, is alone he is always supporting other characters storylines yet he never has one of his own. Emmerdale is a soap opera but the show writers need to stop being homophobic.
